Bob Piazza is President & CEO of Price Pump Company and managing partner of P3 Holdings, in Caldwell, ID, and lives with his wife Penny of 58 years in Eagle, Idaho. He has two daughters Valerie Small and Danielle Piazza and 2 grandchildren, Stephanie and Seth and a great granddaughter Samantha, age 8.
He enlisted in the Naval Reserve in 1961, while in high school, at the age of 17 and went on to graduate from the California Maritime Academy in 1965. He was commissioned an ensign shortly after graduation and was immediately ordered to active duty as engineering officer aboard the USS Finch (DER-328), then conducting gun fire support and maritime search and seizure operations in Vietnam. After his release from active duty in 1967 he served as 3rd engineer with the Military Sea Transport Service, USS General Walker, carrying troops to and from Vietnam. Since his enlistment 1961, he continued his military service as a reservist, progressing to the rank of captain before his retirement shortly after the Gulf War in 1991. During his 30-year career in the reserves, he was officer in charge of YR85 DET 4, Commanding Officer of an AOG-202 and completed his career as Commanding Officer of NAVSEA Industrial Mobilization Detachment 402.
After leaving MSTS in 1967, Bob worked a short time for North American Aviation as a staff project engineer then moving on to Getty Oil Company in tanker operations. In 1968 in started his career in the pump industry with the Pacific Pump Division of Dresser Industries.
Prior to becoming President and part owner of Price Pump Company in 1992, Bob spent 24 years with Dresser Industries, now Halliburton, where he was Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. During his career with Dresser, he gained experience in engineering, marketing, sales and operations management. He has managed 3 manufacturing plants with sales of over $200MM and a sales staff of over 500 people worldwide with sales responsibility for over $700 million. He served on the board of directors of 4 foreign joint venture pump companies and is currently a board member of Price Pump Company.
Mr. Piazza holds a US patent for a magnetic driven pump design.
